rapid ssl Certificate
Secure your Web server with an SSL Certificate from RapidSSL--the lowest cost provider of highly trusted stable and single root (no complex chained root installations). Stable, 128/256 bit single root install SSL certificates are ideal for Ecommerce and password-protected Websites. Automated two-step validation gives you your certificate immediately without the need to fax in paperwork.
Industry standard 128/256 bit encryption
128 / 256 bit SSL is also referred to as strong SSL security. The 128 / 256 bit tells users that the size of the encryption key used to encrypt the data being passed between a Web browser and Web server is 128 / 256 bits in size (mathematically this would be 2 to the power of 128 / 256 ). Because the size of the 128 / 256 bit key is large, it is computationally unfeasible to crack.
Single root, not chained
Browser vendors know RapidSSL.com as a trusted issuing authority. Its Trusted Root CA certificate has already been added to all popular browsers, and hence is already trusted. These SSL certificates are known as "single root" SSL certificates. RapidSSL.com, a subsidiary of GeoTrust, owns the Equifax Secure eBusiness CA-1 root used to issue its certificates.
99% browser compatibility
RapidSSL.com certificates are compatible with IE 5.01+, Netscape 4.7+, Mozilla 1+, AOL 5+, Firefox, Safari and many newer Windows and Mac based browsers and are single root install certificates (they do not use chaining technology), meaning that they are compatible with SSLv2 and SSLv3.
Automated, 24/7 immediate issuance
Following a simple two-step telephony/email validation process, RapidSSL will issue your new SSL certificate immediately.
No faxes needed
RapidSSL.com employs a two-level automated vetting process that includes telephone authentication and email approval to validate authenticity. You must complete both stages of the vetting process before your SSL certificate can be issued. Other SSL providers require processes that involve certificate petitioners to fax in their articles of incorporation, and then wait several days to be granted a certificate to do business online under that name.
"Secured by" site seal
Each certificate will give you access to a “Secured by RapidSSL” Website seal to let the world know your site is secured with the full power of RapidSSL’s industry standard 128/256 bit single root certificate encryption.
